Mountain commemorative badges let people pay more attention to and understand the natural environment and historical background of the mountains, as well as record memories and impressions of oneself, friends, and each different peak.

Hong Kong Trigonometrical Station is a triangulation reference point used to draw topographic maps. There are more than 5,000 geodetic survey control stations covering the whole territory of Hong Kong for map drawing, urban planning, land boundary survey, land administration, engineering and infrastructure development, etc. Provides horizontal and elevational position references, including 232 triangulation stations and 3,498 traverse control points.

Triangulation stations first started appearing on maps of Hong Kong in 1854. The Lands Department is responsible for maintenance and repairs. Triangulation stations are often set up at selected points with a relatively open view in a certain area, such as the top of a mountain. Among them, the stone-type measuring station is composed of a cylinder with a white outer layer and a black band on the top, and a triangular or circular metal plate embedded with a total station on the top plane. Each triangulation station also has its own number, name, location, grid coordinates, altitude and other information. Since most of the triangulation station markers are set at the top of the mountain, it is also commonly known as the elevation column, which is misunderstood by many hikers as the highest point.

Moonhiker's story began in 2014. Two girls, hiking for fun, making friends on the mountains, persevering, and dreaming of reaching the moon. They have completed the 50 highest peaks in Hong Kong (in order of height), the 100km Oxfam Trailwalker, Mount Fuji in Japan, and Alishan in Taiwan. Currently, they are challenging the 150 highest peaks in Hong Kong and more overseas mountains.
